Jumbo, I used to have 5 fish in that nano without problem, so that shouldn't be a problem, as long as the fish aren't too big. They were 2 Clowns, a Cleaner Wrasse, a local Blenny and a Longnose Hawkfish. Look on post #478 by X Faktor here to see what it looked like running with the MH and skimmer (I switched to the JBJ halfway through the page, the top pics are still in the old nano):

Hi Jumbo, I did not run a chiller on the JBJ, with the MH it is open top, so all was fine, I think it did creep up to about 30C on the hottest days though. I think a pc fan or two mounted over the tank should work well, you will just have to top up a bit more frequently.

Empty, that is where the skimmate (dirty brown soup) will collect once the skimmer kicks in.

Did you just add straight RO with the liverock? You should have first mixed saltwater, then add the LR to this. The RO probably killed everything that lived on and in the liverock, as they are saltwater organisms. Not much to do about this now, your cycle is going to be long with the die off from the RO. I would go and explain the predicament to the LFS and ask if you could maybe swap the LR for new pieces, your dead pieces should get seeded with bacteria in their holding tanks in no time. Remember the LR should only be in saltwater.

Just tasted the water and looks like the LFS is more intelegent than me and gave me salt water thank goodness(it tastes very salty). I was also wondering, do I keep the light on/off during cycling as some of the threads say on, and some say off. sorry for all the stupid questions.

Intelligence or messup? just make sure in future that if you ask for RO, you get RO - or else, when you have to replace evaporated water, your salinity is going to rise!

WRT lights - Keep them off, all they will do is fuel algae growth. (During the cycle there are ALOT of nutrients in the water)

oh,
